About Femtasia®

Femtasia® Fest, formerly Les Femmes Underground International Film Festival (LEFUFF), is an official 501(c)(3) traveling film festival. Our mission is to spotlight the works of women, femme, and non-binary creators in experimental and independent cinema.

Beyond showcasing films, Femtasia® Fest is committed to community enrichment and empowerment. Our initiatives, like the nationwide "Books For Babes," bring feminist literature to marginalized communities. Additionally, we extend financial aid and resources to filmmakers navigating film distribution and assisting in advancing their careers.

TRAVELING FILM FESTIVAL

We've journeyed all across the Southwest, East Coast, and Europe where we have showcased a rich tapestry of films—from cutting-edge psychedelic experimental pieces to profound and subversive documentaries as well as narratives which tackle complex themes of identity and sexuality, and of course highlighting genre films such as horror, science fiction and fantasy.

Our programming has taken place in Los Angeles, San Diego, Arizona, Boston, Portland, and even Berlin! We have shown at historic theaters such as the prestigious Aero Theatre and supported local micro Cinemas by screening at locations such as the WHAMMY! Analog Media and Micro Cinema and the San Diego Digital Gym Cinema.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

1. Equip, inform, influence, and mobilize, women, femme, and non-binary filmmakers in underground media.
2. Transform the  landscape of cinema for women, femme, and non-binary filmmakers by creating opportunities and forums that accurately represent them.
3. Create opportunities for women, femme, and non-binary filmmakers via educational resources, wellness fairs and literacy efforts.
